April showers bring May flowers...

We have now celebrated 3 months living in Jarabacoa!  For me, Katie, a city girl who likes her high heals, this is definitely new and has been a transition for me, and as we adjust to life in Jarabacoa, sometimes I wonder when the "April showers" will be over.

This is definitely a place that is full of April showers, (sometimes even April downpours), but I have come to realize that because of all the rain, this has come to be a place that is full of life.

The clouds roll in, the rain pours down, but the sun always comes back out.  And the grass is greener, the air is cooler, the flowers bloom.  The rain is always refreshing and life giving.

And then I am reminded of what John 10:10 says:  "...I have come that they may have life, and have it to the full."

And in this little mountain town where life is a little simpler and more "country," I have been reminded that Christ is where life comes from, and life is what Christ gives. Life to the full!

Our lives may change, they may ebb and flow with its ups and downs, and the rain may come and go, but one thing always remains constant:  Life in Christ.  There is no going wrong there.  Sometimes the April showers need to come so we can be reminded of the beauty of life in Christ, those "May flowers."
Thank you for praying with us and walking with us in this time of transition.  We have a wonderful house with not one, but two guest rooms, and a river that is a stone's throw away.  We cannot promise that it will be sunny every day, but we gladly accept visitors!!
